Bob entered the energy field working for the Army by billing reimbursable tenants on two Army installations for utilities and calculating the rates to charge them. After utilities deregulation, he worked for the Defense Logistics Agency, to get lower natural gas rates and better contract terms, for the Pentagon and other Washington area federal activities. From there, he worked for the Army Corps of Engineers to help and train Army installation energy managers to get better utility rates and to improve utility reimbursements from their tenants. Often found invalid charges while reviewing Army installation utility invoices, which he had the utilities remove and to credit the installations for those errors. During that time, he took the Association of Energy Engineers training to become a Certified Energy Manager.
