Bob Hennessee serves as and Independent Account Manager covering Northern Alabama, bringing one of the most distinctive backgrounds on the UMS team to every client conversation.
Bob began his career with the U.S. Army, where he managed utility billing for reimbursable tenants and calculated utility rates across multiple installations. Following utilities deregulation, he worked with the Defense Logistics Agency to secure lower natural gas rates and improved contract terms for the Pentagon and other federal facilities in the Washington, D.C. area.
He later joined the Army Corps of Engineers, where he trained installation energy managers on optimizing utility rates and improving reimbursements. While reviewing utility invoices, Bob frequently identified billing errors and helped recover credits for overcharges — work that maps directly to what UMS does for businesses every day.
Bob also holds the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification through the Association of Energy Engineers, further strengthening his expertise in utility cost management.
Few people on any team in this industry have spent more time inside the utility billing process than Bob. That experience gives him an immediate credibility and depth of knowledge that clients in Northern Alabama quickly come to appreciate.
